'Tis the Season for Art Benefits

Tomorrow is Build a Dream Art Show and Sale at Coldwell Banker's location in the Four Season's Hotel in Georgetown. I will have four artworks for sale to help raise $145,000 to build a Habitat for Humanity home for a deserving DC family. You are invited to the reception on Thursday, December 1, 5-8pm to support the cause and acquire some art as well! Here are two of my offerings:

Canopy, 20" x 16" Acrylic ©2003 Anne Marchand.

Heart Song, 9" x 12" Acrylic ©2005 Anne Marchand.

Many organizations are asking artists for fine art donations during the holidays to help their fundraising efforts. While art benefits are charity minded, I support those who give back to the arts community. By helping artists to contribute a percentage of their sales to charity, an organization creates a win-win for the artist and the charity. Call me dreamy in this capitalist society of ours, artists are part of the economy of life - of richness, of meaning, of truth, of creativity and of economic value. So let's spread the wealth and keep on giving. I commend Coldwell Banker for their contributions to the arts community and to the important issues of our larger society.
