Christie’s creates unit to sell corporate art works

Christie’s creates unit to sell corporate art works - Crain's New York Business:

"With profits falling and mergers or bankruptcies becoming more commonplace amid the recession, many companies may soon be looking to unload their art. Christie’s is hoping to help.

The auction house has created a special department to focus solely on corporate collections. It recently named longtime Christie’s executive Cathy Elkies head of the department in the United States and Ben Clark head of Europe. So far, they are in talks with around a dozen companies in both continents, though they would not release any names."
