Highlight / Hillyer Art Space

Yesterday, I went over to Hillyer Art Space to see the PostSecret: Confessions on Life, Death and God, curated by Frank Warren. It is a fascinating show with " a myriad of private thoughts concerning spirituality, religion and faith" revealed. Warren’s Post Secret Books are also available for sale. I spoke with the new membership director, Lachelle Slade about Hillyer Art Space's mission of programming local and regional artists exhibitions.
Exhibitions feature artists of both emerging and established stature and are solo, group or thematic in orientation. At HAS work from artists living and working in the mid-Atlantic region, particularly the DC area, exists alongside the work of their international peers. By exhibiting this variety of international art adjacent to local works, HAS creates a dialogue of cultural exchange. from their Website.
This is a venue that is consistently showcasing local artists since 2006 and has guidelines for proposal submissions. I renewed my membership with them to support their mission and I highly recommend this venue. Membership categories start at $50 year and have new benefits for artists, including a 15% discount on Design Studio fees, 17% discount on Tuesday night figure drawing sessions, a 10% discount in-store and online at Jerry's Artarama and AFLAC Insurance discounts. There's more. For more information or if you have any ideas, questions, or concerns, please contact Hillyer Art Space at 202-338-0680 or membership@artsandartists.org.
Tell them you saw this on Painterly Visions Blog.
